Senate Polls: Appeals against acceptance, rejection of nomination papers can be filed till today

Appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers for senate elections can be filed till today.

The tribunals will dispose of the appeals on Monday while the revised list of the candidates will be issued on the Tuesday. The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by Wednesday. Polling will be held on second of next month.

In the federal capital, National Assembly members will elect senators for one general seat and one seat for technocrats, including Ulema.

The members of the four provincial assemblies will elect senators, including seven for general seats, two for women seats, and two for technocrats, including Ulema, from each province.

One senator for non-Muslims will be elected each from Punjab and Sindh provinces.

Teachers and students from Lakki Marwat visited Kohat Garrison and Cadet College Kohat.

On the occasion, they were informed about the professional matters of Pakistan Army, especially the training and educational affairs of the cadets studying at the Cadet College.

Teachers and students paid great tribute to the immense sacrifices of Pakistan Army.

Funeral prayers of Sepoy Bahar Khan and Sepoy Imran Ali offered in Gwadar

The funeral prayers of security personnel Sepoy Bahar Khan and Sepoy Imran Ali, who embraced martyrdom while thwarting terrorist attack on Gwadar Port Authority Colony, were offered in Gwadar today.

Besides others, officials from Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, Balochistan Police members of civil society participated in the Nimaz-e-Janaza.

Later, the dead bodies of the Shuhada were dispatched to their native areas where they will be laid to rest with all military honors.

The Armed Forces of Pakistan are standing shoulder to shoulder with the nation and are committed to foil all terrorist bids and to sabotage peace and development of Balochistan.

The sacrifices of our brave sons of the land further strengthen our resolve in fight against the menace of terrorism and this fight will continue till complete elimination of terrorism from the country.

IBO kills a terrorist in Balochistan

In Balochistan, a terrorist Chakar Liaquat was killed while two other terrorists got injured during an intelligence-based (IBO) operation in District Panjgur.

According to ISPR, during the conduct of operation, the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and killed the terrorist.

Weapon and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities. Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.

The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country.

Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shaheera Shahid visited the old Broadcasting House of Radio Pakistan in Karachi today.

During the visit, she was briefed about different issues and requirements for initiation of transmission from old Broadcasting House Karachi.

The Secretary Information directed to improve the performance of transmitters to ensure reach of the transmission to maximum areas.

Month-long training course in broadcasting concludes at PBA, Islamabad

A month-long training course in the field of broadcasting concluded at Pakistan Broadcasting Academy, in Islamabad today.

One hundred and twenty participants, including online attendees from across Pakistan, joined the course.

It was the first-ever training course launched after the operationalization of the Pakistan Broadcasting Academy, during which participants were trained in various skills like comparing and anchoring.

Addressing the concluding ceremony, Director-General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Saeed Ahmed Sheikh said such training courses will be conducted in the future as well, which was the fundamental concept behind the operationalization of the academy. Participants of the course thanked the Director-General and said that they have learned a lot during the training, which will be helpful in their practical life.

FM to represent Pakistan at Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels

The first ever Nuclear Energy Summit starts in Brussels today to discuss how nuclear power can help drive sustainable development.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar is representing Pakistan at the Summit.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral meetings with leaders and foreign ministers of participating countries.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said the Foreign Minister’s participation in the Summit will contribute to further strengthening of Pakistan’s collaboration with International Atomic Energy Agency.
