PLA participation in Pakistan Day Parade displays unique bonds: Chinese FM

The participation of Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s contingent in the military parade on the occasion of 84th Pakistan Day in Islamabad fully demonstrates the unique and profound friendship between China and Pakistan, and it adds a new story to the reservoir of interactions between the two countries and two militaries.

This was stated by the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian during a regular press briefing in Beijing.

The Spokesperson said at the invitation of the Pakistani military, the Guard of Honor delegation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army participated in the military parade in capital Islamabad on 23rd of March.

He said as an all-weather strategic cooperative partner and iron-clad friend, China sincerely wishes that Pakistan will make new greater achievements in the cause of national development and progress.

Replying to a question about China-India dispute regarding Arunachal Pradesh, Lin Jian said the China-India boundary has never been delimited and is divided into the ea
stern sector, the middle sector, the western sector, and Sikkim section.

The Spokesperson said Zangnan in the eastern sector has always been China’s territory. He said China had all along exercised effective administrative jurisdiction over Zangnan until India’s illegal occupation. This is a basic fact that cannot be denied.

He said India, in 1987, formed the so-called ‘Arunachal Pradesh’ on China’s territory under India’s illegal occupation.

Lin Jian said China had issued a statement right then to firmly oppose it and stressed that India’s move was illegal and null and void. He said China’s position on the issue remains unchanged.
