Caretaker Punjab CM directs to complete New Ravi Bridge Project speedily

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed to complete New Ravi Bridge Project speedily to facilitate the general public.

He gave the directions while reviewing the ongoing construction work the project site in Lahore.

The Chief Minister said traffic coming in and going out of the provincial metropolis will be facilitated through this project.

Funeral prayers offered for two martyred soldiers

Funeral prayers of Sepoy Muhammad Afzal Shaheed and Sepoy Ibrar Hussain Shaheed who embraced martyrdom in exchange of fire with terrorists in Lakki Marwat were offered at their native towns.

The martyrs were laid to rest with full military honours.

Senior serving military officers, relatives of the martyrs and locals of the area attended the funeral prayers.

Armed Forces of Pakistan stand resolute and committed to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the motherland at all costs.

PPP wants free, fair general elections: Bilawal

Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said his party wants free, fair and transparent general elections on eighth of next month.

Addressing a news conference at Multan today, he said his party wants to reduce difficulties of common man and bring economic stability in the country.

He maintained that we will control inflation and decrease the prices of commodities.

ANF seizes over 100 Kg drugs, arrests six in eight operations

The Anti-Narcotics Force has seized over one hundred kilogram drugs in eight operations and arrested six accused.

According to a press release of ANF Headquarters in Rawalpindi, the operations were conducted in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujarat, Sialkot, Jehlum, Sambrayal and Khyber.

Cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act has been registered against the arrested accused and further investigations are under process.

PM to attend 54th annual meeting of World Economic Forum in Davos

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar will pay a five day visit to Davos, Switzerland from Monday to participate in the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

This was stated by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in Islamabad.

The theme of this year’s meeting is Rebuilding Trust.

The Prime Minister will attend three key thematic events: Preventing an Era of Global Conflicts, Restoring Faith in the Global System and Preventing Economic Fracture.

Event held to commemorate birth anniversary of poet, prose writer Shaikh Ayaz

Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in collaboration with National Heritage and Culture Division and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized a special event to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of poet and prose writer Shaikh Ayaz, in Islamabad.

Minister for Education Madad Ali Sindhi in his remarks said Shaikh Ayaz’s role in the intellectual awakening of the youth of the country and in particular youth of Sindh cannot be neglected.

He said the basic human rights that the people enjoy today stem from the sacrifices of Shaikh Ayaz.

Madad Ali said that Shaikh Ayaz went to prison numerous times due to his unwillingness to compromise on his ideals.

He said that Shaikh Ayaz is counted as one of the prominent and great Sindhi poet of Pakistan in general and Sindh in particular.

He said that he was an author of more than 50 books on poetry, biographies, plays and short stories in both Sindhi and Urdu languages. His translations of Shah Jo Risalo, which was written by the 18
th-century Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif, from Sindhi to Urdu language established him as an authority in his domain.

Saudi Arabia announces commencement of operational activities for this year’s Hajj

Saudi Arabia has announced the commencement of operational activities for this year’s Hajj season.

The announcement was made by Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah at conclusion of four-day Hajj and Umrah Services Conference in Jeddah.

The event marked the launch of various new services and technologies in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The conference also witnessed the signing of multiple agreements related to housing, logistical services, healthcare, transportation, catering, technology and artificial intelligence to facilitate intended pilgrims.

Security forces kill 4 terrorists in two separate KP operations

Security forces have killed four terrorists in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was carried out in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District, while another operation took place in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan District.

High-value target terrorists, Commander Tabassum alias Qadarman, and Sajid alias Sarkandi, were killed during the Mir Ali operation.

The security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the terrorists who were actively involved in various terrorist activities, including attacks against security forces, extortion, and target killings of innocent civilians.

Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any other terrorists in the area.

Local residents have expressed their appreciation for the operations and pledged full support to eradicate the menace of terrorism.
