Punjab Cabinet to constitute committee for policy formulation on wheat procurement

The Punjab Cabinet has decided to constitute a ministerial committee for policy formulation on wheat procurement and other issues.

The decision to this effect was taken at the provincial cabinet meeting, which was held in Lahore today with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in the chair.

The committee will be headed by Provincial Minister of Food, while Minister of Finance, Agriculture and Information will be its members.

Addressing the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister directed to employ artificial intelligence and other technologies to identify agricultural needs.

She also directed to launch a campaign to equip motorcycles with safety shields for protecting people from kite metal wire.

Maryam Nawaz said effective legislation will be enacted to ensure the safety of the lives of sanitary workers. She approved holiday on Easter for Christian employees.

Funeral prayer of martyred soldier Nouman offered in Balochistan

Funeral prayer of soldier Nouman has been offered at Frontier Corps Balochistan in Turbat.

The Shaheed embraced martyrdom in the terrorist attack at Pakistan Naval Base in Turbat yesterday.

Senior Army officers and Jawans attended the Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed.

The Shaheed will be buried with full military honour in his native town.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq says upholding values of democracy, peace and rule of law are essential for global growth and development.

He was addressing the 148th IPU Assembly in Geneva on “Parliamentary diplomacy: building bridges for peace and understanding’.

The speaker said Pakistan is a peaceful country that believes in dialogue for cooperation and understanding.

He said fostering bilateral and joint partnerships through the Parliamentary Friendship Groups among parliaments of the world would strengthen the parliament-to-parliament contacts.

PLA participation in Pakistan Day Parade displays unique bonds: Chinese FM

The participation of Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s contingent in the military parade on the occasion of 84th Pakistan Day in Islamabad fully demonstrates the unique and profound friendship between China and Pakistan, and it adds a new story to the reservoir of interactions between the two countries and two militaries.

This was stated by the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian during a regular press briefing in Beijing.

The Spokesperson said at the invitation of the Pakistani military, the Guard of Honor delegation of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army participated in the military parade in capital Islamabad on 23rd of March.

He said as an all-weather strategic cooperative partner and iron-clad friend, China sincerely wishes that Pakistan will make new greater achievements in the cause of national development and progress.

Replying to a question about China-India dispute regarding Arunachal Pradesh, Lin Jian said the China-India boundary has never been delimited and is divided into the ea
stern sector, the middle sector, the western sector, and Sikkim section.

The Spokesperson said Zangnan in the eastern sector has always been China’s territory. He said China had all along exercised effective administrative jurisdiction over Zangnan until India’s illegal occupation. This is a basic fact that cannot be denied.

He said India, in 1987, formed the so-called ‘Arunachal Pradesh’ on China’s territory under India’s illegal occupation.

Lin Jian said China had issued a statement right then to firmly oppose it and stressed that India’s move was illegal and null and void. He said China’s position on the issue remains unchanged.

PNS Yarmouk rescues eight Iranian fishermen

Pakistan Navy has conducted a successful rescue mission to save eight Iranian fishermen whose boat caught fire in the open sea.

The distress call was swiftly responded to by a Pakistan Navy Vessel, PNS Yarmouk.

Rushing to the scene at a low speed, the Navy ship successfully rescued all fishermen and helped extinguish the fire.

This rescue operation showcases Pakistan Navy’s capability to handle emergencies at sea and its commitment to ensuring safety of human life.

Meanwhile, Iran has wholeheartedly appreciated Pakistan Navy for responding actively to the distress call of assistance from an Iranian fishing boat caught in an uncontrollable fire in the open sea and safely rescuing eight Iranian fishermen.

In a message, Iran’s the Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam said Iran and Pakistan have a close mutual support and cooperation in the rescue and humanitarian assistance operations at the international waters.

Night Tourism is being introduced in Peshawar for the first time by Archaeology Department and Tour da Peshawar with the support of Pakistan Army.

Under this initiative, the public will have an opportunity to enjoy local cuisine and music along with a tour of Peshawar’s historical sites.

The introduction of night tourism will further strengthen the tourism sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formally approved the renovation and decoration of Qissa Khwani Bazaar to protect the historical heritage of Peshawar.

Pakistan Army has started work on the restoration and decoration of historical places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at several places of Khyber Trail.
